About Hungarian Typing

Hungarian uses several special characters with diacritical marks that aren't found on standard English keyboards. This tool makes it easy to type in Hungarian with all the proper accents.

Hungarian uses the following special characters:

  • Acute accent (á, é, í, ó, ú) - indicates a long vowel
  • Umlaut/diaeresis (ö, ü) - indicates front rounded vowels
  • Double acute accent (ő, ű) - indicates long front rounded vowels

In Hungarian, these accented characters are considered separate letters of the alphabet, not just variations of the base letters. The Hungarian alphabet has 44 letters in total, including these special characters.

Simply click on the character you need to insert it into your text. You can then copy and paste your text into any application that supports Unicode text.
