About Romanian Typing
Romanian uses several special characters with diacritical marks that aren't found on standard English keyboards. This tool makes it easy to type in Romanian with all the proper characters.
The Romanian alphabet includes the following special characters:
- Ă/ă - vowel with breve, pronounced like the 'a' in "about"
- Â/â - vowel with circumflex, pronounced like a closed central unrounded vowel
- Î/î - vowel with circumflex, same sound as â but used in different positions
- Ș/ș - consonant with comma below, pronounced like 'sh' in "ship"
- Ț/ț - consonant with comma below, pronounced like 'ts' in "cats"
These characters are essential for proper Romanian spelling and pronunciation. For example, "fata" means "the girl" while "fată" means "girl." The diacritical marks can completely change the meaning of words.
Simply click on the character you need to insert it into your text. You can then copy and paste your text into any application that supports Unicode text.
